    26.2.0 Unified Application Shell

The website, the documentation and the Studio share one header and one navigation: the Studio opens where you left off, and every page links to its manual.

The website, the documentation and the Studio, the admin app of appsolut ONE, used to feel like three apps. With this release they share one header and one way of finding your way around, on a desktop, a tablet and a phone.

    One header everywhere

    • Every page, from the front page and the blog to the manual and the Studio, has the same header: the logo, the main navigation and your account menu.
    • Signed in, the main navigation ends with "Studio", which takes you into the Studio from any page.
    • The account menu at the top right holds "Home", "Settings", "Language", "Theme" and "Sign out".
    • Visitors who are not signed in switch the language and the theme in the footer.
    • On a phone the menu button at the top left opens the main navigation.

    The Studio

    • The sidebar shows the pages of the area you are in, each area in its own colour: your personal account near white, an organisation light grey, and the same in dark mode, nearly black and dark grey.
    • The organisation switcher at the top of the sidebar shows the organisation you are in, with your Studio role. It lists all your organisations in alphabetical order, each with your role, and creates a new one.
    • The page header with the breadcrumbs, the title and the page's actions stays in place while you scroll. On a tablet and a phone, the page's actions are under "More actions", "Documentation" first.
    • The first action of every page header, "Documentation", opens the manual's page about the screen you are on, in a new tab.
    • On a tablet the sidebar folds to its icons; on a phone it opens as a sheet over the page.

The Studio opens where you left off

    • Signing in opens the page you last had open, as long as you may still open it, or else the organisation you chose last, also on another device.
    • The "Studio" entry on the website takes you to that same page.
    • In your personal account, "Back to" and the organisation's name return you to the page you left there.
    • A page that no longer exists is forgotten, so a sign-in never lands on it.

    Documentation

    • The manual has the same header, with a sidebar of its own that folds away.
    • The sidebar's sections fold open and closed. The section of the page you are reading starts open, and the sidebar remembers the ones you open or close.
    • Breadcrumbs with the page titles, a select to switch between the documentation sets "Studio", "Portal" and "Developers", and "Previous page" and "Next page" at the end of every page.
    • The documentation's start pages show their sections two to a row.
    • Every screenshot in the manual shows the new navigation, in English and German, light and dark.
