This release turns the Community Portal from a place to read into a place to act: members can now request a trip and redeem a benefit, each in a guided wizard.
Catalogues and seasons
- A Portal can offer several catalogues of travels. Visitors pick one with the catalogue switcher in the hero or by opening a catalogue's page, and every list, card and search then shows only that catalogue's travels.
- A travel outside the current catalogue sends the visitor to the travels index instead of a dead end.
- Seasons let a travel show its off-season name and prices at the right time of year.
Booking requests
- The "Booking" button on a travel opens a wizard: the visitor's details, the trip and dates within the booking window, room types and party size, the companions, and a final summary with the consents.
- Each request is checked against the membership registers. A visitor who is not confirmed is told so clearly, can correct their details and try again, or send a membership enquiry instead.
- Portal editors can set a minimum lead time, and the dates step opens with the earliest possible dates filled in.
- Three emails confirm the request to the member and hand it to the team that handles bookings.
Redeeming benefits
- The "Redeem" button on a benefit opens a wizard. A verified member is given the voucher code, the redemption is recorded, and the partner's link is prepared. Members can also contact the partner by email.
- A member who cannot be confirmed is not simply turned away: the wizard explains what to do next.
- Portal editors write every text the wizard shows, and each Portal can switch its redemption programme on or off.
Index pages
- An index page, such as the list of all travels, can now be edited like any page: with a hero, descriptions, layout blocks, a layout template and its own search engine details.
